Concentric Circles

Rain drops fall

Upon the surface water

Concentric circles form
They grow, unto another

To become one
Overlapping into oblivion 

They all but disappear 
Rain falls quiet

Would be motionless

If water wasn’t here.  
A soft taping is heard 

As drops fall effortlessly down

In a riverbed, that twists and turns

I look calmly on
Watching ripples

Bit the water

Focusing on the sound
I lose focus, close my eyes

From tranquility 

Drifting off without knowing

Deeply I now sleep
